Dont use a collander for your pasta, but use tongs instead so you mix pasta + pasta water with the sauce.

[/ QUOTE ]

This sounds like a good way to make runny pasta sauce. Yay.

No. Use tongs to lift the pasta out of the pot. Then add a couple tbs of the pasta water to the sauce. The starchy water will thicken the sauce, after the water is cooked off.

So your noodles are done an hour before the sauce? What's the point?

Oh, sorry, I missed that you are only putting a little of the starchy water into the sauce. I thought that you were doing to build a sauce from the starchy water, which means you would cook your pasta and then make the sauce, which usually takes a long time.

Still seems like a waste of time to me. Add some corn starch to your sauce if you want is thicker.

When you write a thread with the word moron, you may want to spell it right..

Btw another tip. Instead of cutting the 2 tips off of the garlic clove, lay a large chef's knife on it sideways and hit the blade into it. It doesnt crack the whole clove but it takes the outer skin right off. It takes a second or two per clove.
