Re: 5/10 AA v Banzan
I think your way behind, and I would never call in that spot....

Re: 5/10 AA v Banzan
Empire - what would you put the guy on; or were you being sarcastic?
I've had really mixed views on this hand, as it appears to be one of the trickiest situations I've been in whilst holding AA...how would you of played it on the flop? Chris |

Re: 5/10 AA v Banzan
I think against this player who I know to be very agressive, I peel a turn and see what he does......I think you have to fold to the all in bet tho, eventhough that was the best card you could of asked for other than an ace.

Re: 5/10 AA v Banzan
Hi creed,
[ QUOTE ] [this call is] as easy as it gets.] [/ QUOTE ] I disagree. It's situational, IMO, and if he's a good LAG, I'd give some thought to folding it...and then I'd usually call. But, I wouldn't call it easy, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least to be shown a boat, trip 5s, or a straight. |

[/ QUOTE ] I exaggerated a little (obviously there are easier calls), but here's my thinking: It's an easy call because in the long run it's +EV, just like calling a short stack's push when there's some dead money in the pot and you close the action with AK is easy. Sometimes you're way behind, sometimes you're way ahead, sometimes it's a coin flip, but if you make this call ten times you will end up ahead. I think that's analogous to this situation. There's no way of knowing where we are on this particular hand, but in this sort of situation we are ahead often enough to call. And really, that's what this forum is all about, giving us the tools so that when we run into a particular scenario we can make the most +EV choice given the range of likely hands opponent may be holding at that time. |

Re: 5/10 AA v Banzan
my vote goes fo negative EV due to the pathetic two Aces left in the deck that will help you win....
i just don't think u have enough to go on to put him on one of the following and call with just a pair (excluding the board pair) for AA to win (or be ahead at least), the villian must have: 1) stone cold bluff (on the flop & turn) 2) some other crappy overpair 3) straight draw????? i just don't think it adds up to an "easy" call.... |
