Tuff's right. Why hate on the guy?

[/ QUOTE ]

You're alright with him kicking people while they are down?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not at all. But this isn't style points, misguided anger because Tuff sucks at playing cards, or Fish reveling at the agony of many who have made a great living off of dead money players like himself.

IMO, he's not taking a shot at anyone. He's telling you how it is. If you lose him, think about all the others like him you never hear about.

Ed Miller wrote an article on his blog earlier this month that talks about the online games getting tougher, evidenced by the stories of people who used to be ballers and are now busto on this and many other sites. Well, Ed's right - and it just got tougher. We lost Fish.

[/ QUOTE ]

He could have made whatever point he's going for in a much better way. Just look at this line:

"I am sort of enjoying this. Although you didn't directly bring "THIS" onto your heads, you were all working hard toward it. The government just hastened the process."

It's a load of BS and a slap in the face at a completely inappropriate time.

everyone bashing tony and telling him to kill himself is acting in really poor taste in my opinion. his complaints as a recreational player about multitabling grinders are perfectly normal.

tony,

i think you'd have much more enjoyment out of live games anyways. i don't think online is really suited for your temperament or your skill level. good luck.

Why doesn't he deserve good luck wishes? He obviously was a losing player, and provided countless hours of entertainment. The fact that you expect him to have fond feelings for online poker is surprising. To be honest, I find myself agreeing for the most part about some of his thoughts on multitabling tearing up the online game.

Seriously, how can you expect him to not have a little bit of glee that all the grinders who took his money are now having the floor fall out from under them? He's given a lot of hilarity to the forums at his expense and we ate it up. I'm not going to send him off with insults just because he's happy the sharks dont have as many fish anymore.

Making it public and rubbing it in everyone's face immediately after it happened is the issue.

Remind me to laugh in his face when his source of income is taken away from him.

You would if his job was to consistently take money from you. For example, if all the casinos couldnt spread -ev games anymore, i would laugh pretty heartily at all that. for a guy like tuff fish, he's just paying for entertainment, but in essence its still a rigged game for him because he will never put in the effort to become good enough to be a winner. its a natural response for him to laugh at all of us.

I don't buy this at all. No decent human being is going to be laughing at people at a time like this. He can be pleased about the fact that he won't be burning as much money playing poker in the future. Fine, good for him. But to come and laugh in everyone's face when we haven't even been paid yet and have big chunks of money floating in cyberspace is a low class move. He even went as far as to say that we brought this on ourselves. Give me a break.

For a lot of people, this is no different than being laid off from a job. He doesn't seem to understand that, or if he does, he doesn't care.

Homer, you will get paid. Who's really doubting that at this point?

Also, this isn't quite the same thing as getting laid off from a job, because it's (a) not a decision that you could in any reasonable way take to be a result of your personal skills or abilities, and (b) isn't damaging to your resume as having to explain a lay-off is.

I believe everyone will be paid, but there is a small chance things will turn sour. Regardless, many people are stressed out with the future of the industry uncertain (keep in mind Internet Gambling includes not only poker, but sportsbooks, which have been hit hard with Pinnacle closing down in the last week and others to follow shortly). This post was only created so that OP could laugh at the misfortune of others. I cannot understand why he would be motivated to make a post like this.

You are correct that this isn't exactly the same as being laid off, in that it doesn't damage one's resume. However, the short-term result is just the same for many people.
