Re: can i eat this
Food Products Association FAQs
from the site: "Q: What is the difference between a "best-if-used-by" date and an "expiration" date on food products? A: The "best-if-used-by" date is the date recommended for best flavor and quality of a product. It is not a purchase or safety date. A "sell by" or "expiration" or "use by" date tells a customer how long a store should display the product for sale. Purchase products before the "sell by" or "use by" date. A product can still be used after the 'sell by' date if it is still safe, wholesome and of good quality." Eat it. |

WTF? Easily safe, start this thread in like 1 1/2 weeks and then maybe we have an issue, although by this point I'm sure the salad wouldn't be very fresh but prob still safe. Also, you can almost always tell by smelling/tasting a little bit of the shrimp. [/ QUOTE ] This is how they test for the presence of harmful bacteria in the lab... |

Re: can i eat this
El D and Dids,
I am a delicate flower. Our power was out for six hours on Friday, during which time our fridge door remained closed. Friday night my wife made a sandwich using Dijonaisse from said fridge, and I couldn't watch. Mayo is on my Food Terrorism Watch List. |

Re: can i eat this
Mayo is full of oil and vinegar, things that don't ever go bad. There's so much in there that the egg is totally mitigated. It's safer than many needs named in this thread.
I'm squeamish about [censored] too, I throw out fruit before I should, but my faith in mayo is everlasting. |

Re: can i eat this
As long as the lettuce isn't turning brown, chow down.
I'd think the lettuce would go bad before anything else. |

Re: can i eat this
I see no trans-fats in that salad so you're good to go sublime!
