dont forget the "not being good at poker" part.

Look, say whatever you want. I've played a total of 6 tournaments. I've won or cashed in 4 of them. You can tell me I'm stupid and that it's all my fault for what happened, but with that history of wins vs. losses, you can't say I suck at poker.
If it's not enough tournaments to base whether or not I'm a winning player, then I guess you will just have to give me more time and wait and see.

[/ QUOTE ]

i played with you in the mega sat to festa wpt, and on the bubble you were doing the stupidiest [censored] i've ever seen. you were like 2nd or 3rd in chips w/ 25 left w/ 24 who get seats and you're playing big pots against the only guy who can bust you, or insta calling all ins w/ A3o against guys who can take half your chips and perhaps give you a chance of busting when you can fold into a seat because "you were bored."

listen, you might be ok, but it sounds like you haven't exactly put hundreds of thousands of hands and hundreds of hours playing poker like many of the successful players on this board and on the tournament circuit have.

alot of these guys, don't have much reason to stake you otherwise than to sleep with you because you aren't a winning player, and that's just the truth.

I can't believe that so many of you are giving her a hard time. I, for one, believe her. It may sound awfully naive and foolish on her part to ever have gotten involved with this guy, but people do do stupid things.

I hate to say this, but the poker world is full of scumbags and grifters. Anybody who has lent money in a casino can tell you stories of getting stiffed. And while poker is relatively clean these days, 30 years ago, it was a totally different situation. And many of the old timers that you young kids idolize today were active cheaters and con men back in those days.

I would advice all you young kids to not lend money in a casino (including letting someone 'hold' your money). Nor should you put anyone into games, cause the odds are good that half the money you give him to play will wind up in his pocket, and the rest will be deliberately lost.

It saddens me whenever I see some young kid getting taken again by one of these old time scumbags.

Question for all:

Who really got conned here? Poor lil Brandi by mean ol dirty old man Cpt. Tom? Or all of you who are gullible enough to believe her story with no other corroboration?

[/ QUOTE ]

Bluff,

It's hard to believe Brandi would slander somebody, ruining her reputation in the poker world, just to trick a message board.

FF,

You are forgetting a 3rd explanation here which is that she is just NUTS. However, the first option, that she is lying/distorting to some degree still has a higher probability than that she is telling the 100% truth, simply because she has many of the characteristics of a hustler.

5th leveling? I doubt she's concerned about giving her reputation a face lift, because it's already a joke and that would appear irreparable at this point.

The more people she tells her little sad story to, the more donations she can try and squeeze, and of course she publicizes it on a messageboard consumed by hapless geeks who probably flood her PM box as is; they are the easiest targets for her, and since her bag of tricks is running low she needs some means to get by.

Believing a word out of that girls mouth is silly - this is what she does.

Brandi,

I am sure you're not a winning poker player. The fact is that 50 tournaments wouldn't be enough to determine if you're a winner or just exceptionally lucky (you probably need more like 400), let alone 7. I'm not saying this to be mean, but I think that you're probably best off finding a real job instead of chasing the illusory dream of poker success. This scene is clearly not beneficial to your mental success.

If what you posted is true, I'm sorry to hear it: it's obviously something awful that should never happen to anybody regardless of whether they made some naive mistakes to put themselves in that position.

Very true. But the new time young scumbags and cheaters of the online poker scene have carried on the scumbag tradition very "well".

Or/and because most people lack the maturity the tell an unbiased version of a story which has them this emotionally charged. I think it's fine if Shane, who knows her and probably has more information than anyone wants to call her out on that, but you have no more information than anyone else here. I would bet 99.something percent of the time here, the truth is somewhere between the version she gave us and the version Tom Franklin would give us. I personally find it dumb for you to interject yourself into this thread suggesting "Oh maybe shes just NUTS" because any non-retarded person here deduce that

a.) this girl is [censored] up over whatever happened
b.) while she probably contributed to the situation, she probably also was a victim to at least some extent here

So why do you feel the need to be a total schmuck?

The bottom line is that strippers/whores view all men as suckers and try to get their money, and think that they deserve it because men treat women so badly. But when one of their marks turns the tables on them and cons them, they cry rape.
