Also, join the Army Reserve (or whatever your equivalent is, im an Aussie).

It's an amazing experience, you'll learn stuff about yourself you never knew, and you'll make some great mates along the way. [/end plug]

this is terrible advice. holla

I'm not advertising it from any sense of patriotism or political idealogy, i'm just saying that I went through the training to become an officer in the Australian Army Reserve, and I learnt a hell of a lot about myself along the way.

I'm certainly not gonna be volunteering to go to Iraq anytime soon. No matter how "bored with poker" I get.

well thats awesome for you, (not being sarcastic). however, for me, i learned very early in life that i really hate being told what to do, and really really hate doing meaningless activities as a form of 'discipline'. anything that involves those type of activities im strongly against for my personal motivations. holla

take up golf if you live in the south. Almost as addictive as poker,

100% agree.. golf on a hot day is a great time, and you get to get out and get some sunshine and hang out w/ some cool people or just go by yourself if you want.

i usually go to the driving range when i dont feel like playing a full course or cant find people with enough free time.

i also go running every night.. its good for your health, it might not seem like it but when you go to the doctors and he tells you that you've got a good pulse you'll feel the accomplishment aside from not looking like a troll.

agreed. and for me its not that i dont like being told what to do (b/c i hate it) it's just that I view that as a way of escaping becoming your own person.

life is short, it shouldnt be spent entirely on a computer or in a uniform.
