I'd like to point out that the million this evening had 6687 entrants. it's 12:23 am eastern, and the final table has just started. That's less than 8 hours of play, not including down time due to breaks and bubbles, to go from 6687 to 9. That's ridiculously fast.

I understand that Stars doesn't want to have their Sunday tournament to run for 15 hours on a weekly basis, but some compromise must be reached, no?

Isn't this tournament long as hell already? I think it'd be pretty hard to make the structure more attractive to winning and professional players without having it end at like 4 in the morning.

Heh, okay so my post now looks goofy after theosu's. I still stand by my point though that making it any longer would be a significantly negating factor to casual weekend players, i.e. most of the field.

It's not like every time it runs you're going to go deep in it. I'd think that a casual player would be more than happy to play for 10+ hours if they went deep in this tourney.

Contrary to popular belief it isnt really the number of entrants that effects length of a tourney (within a reasonable amount). I think as a ratio for length it is like 85-90% structure (level length and blinds) and 10/15% field size. Maybe even more waited to structure. So that is an unfair question.

I agree with your belief Justin. I was just wondering what some estimates were. I honestly don't think it would take more than 10-13 hours using the FT structure. I could be wrong, but wanted to get some other opinions.

I don't play this, obv, but isn't this the case with ALL of Stars tournies? Levels where the blinds double and the antes are too small to be meaningful?

I never have liked the structure on Stars (except for the deepstack- which is my favorite tourny to play online).
