Default Re: Yankees Pick Up Option on Sheffield; Sheffield Not Happy About It

So, having no life, I checked every home game Sheffield played in in May, 1990. On May 15, he made two errors: the first was in the second inning. He did not get another chance until the 7th, and he made a clean play. He did, however, make another error in the 8th. Retrosheet just says an error, doesn't indicate whether it's a throw, or if the throw went into the stands.

Thanks. I only checked one month, someone less lazy than I will have to do the work. Otherwise, I'll take your word that someone's already done it. It sounds like something Sheff would say but not really do.

Suppan will get paid his ten mil because teams also look at your post season performance. If you go to a team expected to make the playoffs and they know you come through in the post season they will pay you. Suppan maybe not good for a team not ready for playoffs but your Mets and Yankees expect to make it each year and will give him the money.
