Also if you mention that you think it's an underhanded tactic to attach unrelated riders to important legislation, I think most Senators agree and will be more receptive. Even if the effect of mentioning the lameness of the tactic is small, it's worth it. The Senator might not care strongly one way or the other about internet gambling, but Senators definitely DO care about procedural bs getting pulled.

There was the DoD bill and the Port Security bill. We appear to be in the clear on the former but the latter is still very much up in the air until adjournment.

I'd recommend reading all the relevant threads in the Legislation forum. These bastards (Frist, et al) are like The Terminator and whatnot and what have you per se.
