oh, this is my favorite piece of advice from the Simmons piece:

Never say anything maudlin or sentimental about the person you're dating -- you will be linked to them forever and ever. Just remember, when you get to college, you will break up with them by Columbus Day Weekend, probably get back together during Thanksgiving Break, then break up for good during Christmas vacation. Everyone thinks, "Oh, it won't happen to us." Believe me, it's going to happen -- 99 out of 100 people eventually break up with their high school flames. So keep the gooey stuff to minimum. If you're devoting a quote to your significant other, choose this one: "Dead man walking!"

and a few of the funnier quotes from the Simmons article that weren't yet mentioned:

"Maybe the problems of two people don't amount to a hill of beans. But this is our hill. And these are our beans!"
-- Lt. Frank Drebin

"I've won at every level except high school and college."
-- Shaquille O'Neal

"If she keeps putting you on hold, it's time to hang up the phone, pardner."
-- Larry King

"This is A.C.! I got O.J. in the car! (pause) This is A.C.! You know who this is, goddammit!"
-- Al Cowlings

"Children are like TV sets. When they start acting weird, whack them across the head with a big rubber basketball shoe."
-- Hunter S. Thompson

"I like simple pleasures, like butter in my ass, lollipops in my mouth. That's just me. That's just something that I enjoy."
-- Floyd Gandolli

"On this Father's Day, we'd like to wish all you fathers out here a happy birthday."
-- Ralph Kiner, Father Day 1988

Hey what should my senior quote be for my High School Yearbook.

Im thinking this - "The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education." -Albert Einstein

[/ QUOTE ]

The Einstein quote that you're thinking about is probably:

"It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education."
- Albert Einstein

[/ QUOTE ]

either that or Mark Twain's "one should never let one's schooling interfere with their education"

I may as well link to the Charles Barkley Quotes website up for inspiration:

"Hey Kevin, let me tell you somethin. There are subliminal messages, and there are real messages. Like, if I hit somebody in the head with a hammer, that's a real message. When I offer you Altoids..."

"I know a lot of people did a lot of heavy lifting to make me successful and I do everything in my power not to screw it up."

During the Bruno's Memorial Classic Pro-Am: "Cat [Reddick, a female soccer player] was fantastic but when you lose to a woman, it means you suck at something. There are two times when you know you suck at sports -- when you can't beat the women and when you can't beat the smart kids." and later "Like a couple of years ago when I went to the Auburn-Georgia Tech game. We lost and I knew we were in trouble. We couldn't beat the smart guys."

"My goals are to play the piano and get really, really, really fat."
