Re: Quick, Single Guy Meals
Easy Meat:
Shake'n'Bake Chicken - Pour some of the powder stuff on a thawed chicken breast, cook in oven for 15 minutes Italian Sausages - Semi-thaw and stick in oven for 15 minutes or until it starts cracking Easy Vegetables/Sides: Baked Potatoes - Wrap in tin foil, cook in oven for an hour Broccoli/Cauliflower/etc - SMALL layer of water in a pot, veggies on top. Boil water and cover for a minute or two (very quick!) Perogies - Boil water, cook for a couple of minutes. Optionally top with sour cream, bacon bits, hot sauce, whatever. If you don't mind doing a tad of work, they taste much better fried. |

Dump frozen chicken strips into a greased pan on medium heat and let cook til not pink inside. 3. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces 4. Turn heat down and pour bottle of sauce into chicken pan and cook for another minute. 5. Pour chicken/sauce on top of rice. Most Delicious. Dish. Ever. [ QUOTE ] make big batches of pasta and just put it in the fridge in tupperware [/ QUOTE ] I'm assuming we are talking dried pasta here...Pasta takes like 15 minutes to make, tastes far better straight out of the pot than if you nuke it, and gets less and less tasty the longer it stays in the fridge. I'll make enough pasta for two days on occasion, but generally speaking, it's not worth it to make a bunch at once. It will also keeps you from eating pasta every meal. -McGee [/ QUOTE ] Seriously. I worked in my undergrad's dining services for a week Freshman year and I went into the fridge where they have enormous tubs labeled "Monday" through "Sunday". No wonder the pasta was always so tasteless. |

[ QUOTE ] Buy a crock pot. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I love my crock pot. I make roasts, kielbasa, meatballs (frozen bag, jar of gravy, onion soup mix pack) Yum! [/ QUOTE ] Agreed 2x. Crock pots are great, and they don't heat up the house on summer days too. And in winter, they make great comfort foods like soups, stews, casseroles, roasts, and chili. |

Re: Quick, Single Guy Meals
Yall have been incredibly helpful. I just got in tonight from dinner with a couple buddies but I will definitely stop by Vons (Safeway) on my way home from class tomorrow and pick up some of the recommended items.
I am incredibly thankful for the advice and ideas. You have basically made my night. Sad as it is, it's true. Of course this could be because I haven't started grinding for the night, or it could be because 2p2 is phenomenal. |
