Read the post, douche. They haven't lost a game AFTER their fifth, moron (to discover that for certain, look at their record, add up the wins and losses, and ascertain that they have only played FIVE GAMES TOTAL). But for what it's worth, TCU's offense has completely blown their chances at a great season and anyone who wants to say so is welcome to flame away here. I've just been out of town is all...not unwilling to take my licks.

It still doesn't mean anyone in the Big 12, ranked or unranked, has been able to beat them in the last two years. But considering their recent feeble performances, that certainly means less than it used to.

Alright...I'm not waiting until AFTER the Texas game to decide whether to bump this or not. No one accuse me of any cowardice on that.

My Frogs took their lumps last season against BYU (who turned out to be a damn good football team) and Utah (meh, poor loss). But they did bounce back to win their last 8 games of the season and finish 11-2. In their bowl game they held the nation's leading rusher to 28 yards on 20 carries (in the same season Ohio State gave up 171 yards to him).

Oh...still think that defense holding Tech to 3 points was a result of Tech's offense being bad? Well, they hung up 30+ points in nine of their other 12 games (including 31 against Texas)...and they put up 27 against Texas A&M and 24 against Oklahoma...and Graham Harrell (that QB who wasn't very good) threw for over 4500 yards (most ever by a sophomore QB), 38 TD's, and only 11 INT's. Overall a FAR cry from the 23-47, 204 yards, 0 TD day against the Frogs.

Since the rest of his season didn't play out poorly (as I was told it would), I guess the other alternative is we should thank our lucky stars we didn't play him later. Couldn't be that our D had anything to do with it. If we make someone good look bad, it's either that they really are bad or that we got them at a lucky time. Hmmph.

So, dating to the beginning of 2005, the Frogs are now 23-3 with wins over Top Five Oklahoma fresh off the national title game and ranked Texas Tech...two bowl wins, a conference championship, and with a shutout of Baylor they've run it to 5-0 against the Big XII.

I said in this thread last season that my thread title was intentionally provocative because I was conceding TCU was not as good as Texas...but that IF they go to Austin and beat Texas, then I don't give a crap what ANYONE says...

TCU owns the Big XII.

If they go 6-0 against the conference while beating BOTH of their two true powerhouses on the road while both were ranked in or very near the Top Five PLUS two of its better second-tier teams at home and in a bowl.....then it's gonna be hard for me to see how we Frog fans aren't completely justified in making that statement.

Anyone care to tear down the validity of that statement as an excuse for the Big XII before the game begins?

Anyone have any thoughts on the upcoming game (ie - anyone care to tell me how ridiculous the idea of a TCU win is?)?

Just thought after the 27-0 win over Baylor (yeah, they really do suck) and with the UT game coming up that it was time to get this thread going again.

Well, an increasing number of people are saying that what with Texas' performance against Arky State and TCU's shutout thrashing of Baylor. Neither opponent was good, but even the Bears are better than the Indians...and TCU looked a lot more comfortable disposing of Baylor than Texas did with their lame duck.

Nonetheless, I don't think Texas is going to play that poorly two weeks in a row. Mack Brown is Mack Brown for a reason...he'll have them up for this game.

He's playing the politics well. At the end of last season, he left us off his final regular season Top 25 ballot (the one that's made public). Then he had one more vote after the bowl games (in a private ballot)...he's now CLAIMING he bumped us up from unranked to "about #10" due to our beating Northern Illinois 37-7. He's also heaping praise on us like we were about to eclipse USC for the #1 ranking in the country.

Nobody in Fort Worth is buying it. He's trying to pump us up and lower expectations for his own guys because he clearly is worried about the outcome of this one.

But.....Texas is still Texas. They're a super talented team chocked full of the kinds of blue chippers TCU doesn't get many of (we've gotta COACH our players UP to the level they play at). It's gonna be a close game and I can't wait to be in DKR Memorial come Saturday.
