I paid about $17K in prop taxes as well.

The fact that we have no state income tax doesn't mean that NV is a low tax state. Rather they make up for it in a number of ways and we are around the median.

No one addressed why I shouldn't be allowed a personal exemption for my three kids....

23 and feel I pay way too much did well this year with job and poker 80k from work insurance sales 110k from poker paid 30% and got stuck with state amt for 9% cause I live in a socialist democratic blue state that does all it can to take your hard earned money to give to worthless bums who just keep having kids I end up paying for.Socialism is not the way to go it does not motivate. I grew up trailer park poor but I got out and do well for my age I do not have a college education so if I can make it so can the rest of these bums you just have to want it.

my guess is that many of the anarcho-capitalists are going to be strangely silent in this thread regarding their work and tax burden

BTW, what is the implication here? That once they "grow up" and start paying 1/4 to 1/2 their income in taxes, they'll realize it's not that bad?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, that they'll have a chance to participate in the 'market' that they so espouse and realize it is not a perfect natural force, morally or practically. This was all in my other response, sorry if it was too subtle.

So nobody has a problem with OP insinuating that socialists don't pay taxes, but it's not okay to make a prediction about demographics of A-Cists? Call it an ad hominem if you want, the prediction was correct for the most part.

30 yrs old. My wife and I paid at least 100K in taxes last year. That's just too much $$$ in my opinion. At least I don't live in California where the state rates are more than double those here in Indiana.

I'm just curious how many of the friendly posters on this board actually work and pay taxes. Given the number of admitted socialists lately, I also wonder how many of you think that the taxes you pay are too low, too high or just right. Oh yeah, put your age down too-- I hugged a couple trees 20 years ago at Cal so I know how that works...

40/have a job/pay 35% federal, no state/ i pay too much

next....

[/ QUOTE ]

Oddly enough, I haven't noticed a lot of socialists. Students, maybe.

But I'm nearly 37, married and pay a lot in taxes. I think taxes are a little high.
