[ QUOTE ] http://www.msf-usa.org/ The BRC (Basic Rider Course) should provide you with both a helmet and bike for your course. Poke around that site, there is a lot of good info there. What state are you in? [/ QUOTE ] I am in Ohio [/ QUOTE ] http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/ Looks like it will only cost you $25. How lucky! You've got a lot of training sites to choose from as well: http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/brcschedule.htm I look forward to reading your trip report! |

i just got a ninja500 for my first bike and its plenty fast enough for me. i took the msf course because i had no idea how to ride a motorcycle or even drive a stick shift. i crashed my bike 7 days after buying it at about 45-50 mph. i was fine just scraped my knee a little and the bike was messed up. def dont buy a 600 for a first bike.

Can't believe there's a thread about motorcycles and no mention of these: Harley Davidson b [/ QUOTE ] Depends upon whether OP wants to get his knee down in the twisties, or potter down to the local Starbucks in brand new leather chaps. |

[ QUOTE ]
Dont be a squid , wear a helmet. And plus you know how much bugs to the face hurt?. For the record most accidents happen 15 miles within home , because the people get comfy and stop paying as much attention. [/ QUOTE ] I am very big on gear. Gloves are also an absolute must and I will not ride without them after seeing pictures of someone who went down without them. However, I hate the above statistic. Of course "most" accidents happen 15 miles from home. Most time you spend riding is 15 miles from home. rJ_ |
