[ QUOTE ]
1. When you are running bad - play shorter sessions and move down in limits.

[/ QUOTE ]

I do a variation of this. I don't like to quit a session early becasue I am up or down. But what I will do is if I start to feel antsy about being either up or down (wanting to lock up a win or starting to tilt), I will move down to my lowest limit.

The days I just feel good and enjoy playing I'll play a little longer than my normal session (which is two hours) so on those days I might play 3-4 hours and I play at the higher end of my limit spectrum.

1. Doing pretty much the opposite of the advice in the OP is main reason that I'm not rich from poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seriously. This post is gold, although it's something I've heard many times before and pretty much know but still ignore.

To start I put this as my homepage. If I changed my ways I would be much richer.

1) Before every bet or raise you make ask yourself "Does this move make me money?"

2) If the answer to #1 is no... check or fold.

1. When you are running bad - play shorter sessions and move down in limits.

2. When you are on a heater, play extremely long session. Play until you cannot physically play another hand. While I can't explain why this works (especially shorthanded or heads up), its probably a combination of you playing your best, your opponents their worst and your image being perfect.

Both of these are very hard to do.

Post your advice.

[/ QUOTE ]

1. play bad
2. run good
