Default Re: Flush Draw OOP Makes It On The Turn

I like reraising from the BB better than folding. And I like folding better than calling. However, I'd cb this flop every time, and then the whole hand plays differently ... especially with villain's tiny post-flop aggression. I don't think he's going big on a paired board with a naked As8o.

As this got played, I can't see folding. I'd feel I was winning at least 20% of the time end up calling off my stack and writing a post-it note on my monitor, "Don't go broke with the non-nut flush on a paired board vs a nit..."

Grunch, your relative position in this hand is fine. You check the flop, maniac pots it and you act last.

Calling > raising > folding and it's not close IMO.

Jam,

Way to fit three of my paragraphs into one sentence.

You know what, given the relative position to the maniac, and the fact that the maniac was the preflop raiser, I'm changing my mind and thinking that the above advice regarding the preflop re-raise/call decision is better than mine. As a general rule of thumb, I reraise or fold from the blinds. But, the relative position to the maniac changes the equation preflop altogether. Your position lets you see what he does and act last after the rest of the table responds.

I call preflop, bet the flop, and then I think the turn may be easier to play. The main problem is that by checking behind on the flop you got no infomation. Calling preflop and betting the flop gets you to the same size pot on the turn with more information and the initative compared to reraising preflop and checking the flop.

i dont agree w/ your check on the flop, i would of def 1/2 pot bet the flop here, so i can have an idea of what he may have. If you would of bet on the flop, you decision on the flop would of been a little eaiser, u prob call here.
