From what I read at pokernews.com, he was as upset as many had ever seen him.

What I don't understand is that he seems to think it's ok to miss 2 hours and lose half his stack in what would've started as 10 handed.

Damn. Harry D seemed so nice and mild-mannered on the WPT episode I saw him on. Lately though with incidents like this and in his posts on DN's forum, he's just bitching & whining alot. It's alot like seeing Bruce Dickinson in concert circa 2000 and his inexplicable rants from the stage.

Perhaps, but it's more of a function of less people showing up than expected.

Given all the fuss, I expect that next year's WSOP is either not going to have shootouts, or is going to start every shootout with ten-handed tables. I know that many players were expecting that, but didn't they have a chance to change the structure before the WSOP started? Isn't that what the players' council is for?

A important lesson about not counting your chickens, it seems.

Hi Everyone:

Due to other issues concerning Two Plus Two Publishing LLC (such as all our computers going down) I've spent very little time at the WSOP. So I don't know the details of this incident.

However, I do know Harry Demetrieu fairly well. I've played against him many times, and he's joined us for coffee on occasion. In my opinion, he is a first class person, and I find it hard to believe that if he has some sort of complaint that it's not legitimate to at least some extent.

Best wishes,
Mason

Interesting.

I wasn't there either, so I'll allow that our criticism of him could very well be excessive. But, given what's been posted (his claim that the structure was changed when it wasn't, etc.), it doesn't look too good.

Even a first-class person might occasionally throw a random fit and think up a lame excuse afterwards.

That said, I agree that nobody should draw sweeping conclusions from this one incident.

And in the back stretch, DN suddenly pulls into the lead for the Knucklehead Of The Day award.

Man, those people on the Hendon Mob and Full Contact forums sure are kissing Harry's rear-end. Their parents must not have taught them how to act, either. LOL

Harry does have some very legitimate issues with Harrah's/WSOP, if you go to the main page at thehendonmob.com you can see what his complaints were up to the HORSE tournament.
