Re: MMORPG\'s - Help me start to get into one

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] no, a girl who played the game died in real life. many of her online friends that played with her often set up the in game funeral for her. [/ QUOTE ] wtf?? thats so weird. and then these guys come and kill everyone? thats lame as hell. video is funny though. [/ QUOTE ] What had happened is that a respected member of a guild had died in real life. The guild master got in contact with the parents of the player and asked if they could hold a "funeral" in the game to honor their friend. I had not heard whether it was intentional or not but a rival guild crashed the funeral. [/ QUOTE ] lol thats just mean.. dam rival guilds |

WoW is the best of what you listed.
However, I strongly suggest that you run away while you still can. |

You can have a 1v1 scrimmage match at your guild hall. You could also hire henchmen for the match so it's 1v1 with up to 4 NPC's on each side as well. Dueling isn't a big part of the game though. [/ QUOTE ] That sucks. Why can't a game just be like UO pre-Tram and let you be able to solo if you want. |

Re: MMORPG\'s - Help me start to get into one
Why hasn't anyone mentioned Eve?
I like it a lot and the gameplay is pretty open-ended. Do missions, be an industrialist and play the market, pirate other players, mine, get involved in politics and fleet battles, police low security space, and on and on... |

If it had been something lame like an online wedding or a funeral cuz someone quit the game or something, then it would be funny as hell. But for someone that actually died, thats pretty [censored] douchebag |

Re: MMORPG\'s - Help me start to get into one
[ QUOTE ]
DAoC was awesome. I loved it. There was a great endgame, had a good community, there was no huge item imbalance like in WoW, and PvP was lots of fun at all levels. The problem is it's old. After 3 years of something you just have to move on. I'm hoping Warhammer Online is basically DAoC 2. [/ QUOTE ] Daoc when they added their pvp servers was a solution after UO got nerfed. Had many fun nite with 8x8 pvp. Too bad there was no dry looting. Of course like all of these type games DAOC was nerfed to hell and item based. WOW was great dissapointment as useful pvp was never implemented. |
