How many are left in the tournament? I see they've just started level 8 of the tournament.

Crack- Check your PM.

WSOP Update
Mo is down to a few thousand. He needs a pot soon.

man, Cardplayer.com must have some lag time with their updates. They've still got Mo listed with about $22k in chips. Unless their info is current and Jay's is old.

About 20 minutes ago, there were 150 left.

The players chip counts are not updated for all players.
Most are old counts.

I'd trust Jay, since he's actually at the event.

The Moneymaker question....
Well with any Ace you are never more than a 2-1 dog (unless your up against Aces) - the suited is a plus. A-2 will often split with, say A-7

No - not against any another Ace - against any other hand (like even KK) (but not AA)

Via poker stove KK versus A2 suited - 67/32 just about the worst you can expect. Maybe it gets as bad as 70/30 (AK v A2) Still not great and I am certainly not advocating his play here - just what he might have been considering. Maybe he added a possible KQ in the mix of hands that he could be up against. If Money maker called with say 55 against a KK, that would far worse (81/19 - 4 to one dog).

I guess my ultimate point is that in a tournament setting different ideas apply. 5000th place pays the same as 1000th so you do have to gamble a bit to be ahead of the curve. Domination isn't as bad as it at first seems. With an opponent with Ac5C versus your Ah2h it is 55/44 - not so bad if you rooting for coin flips... maybe there was other dead money in the pot.

Scenerio - small blind 1000, big blind 2000. You are Middle position and call (2000) with A2 of hearts. Button goes "all in" for 8000 (maybe a steal (20%). Blinds fold. Pot is 13,000 - Let's say he turns his cards face up before your call and shows you pocket KK - you should still make the call (67/32) with 6000 to call into 13,000. With mid size ace in his hand your still ok (A7 to your A2 is 57/41) - domination isn't always as bad as some make it out to be and if you are free rolling as a donk player - you gotta get lucky to win anyway... Not a strategy for cash games!
