Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
[ QUOTE ]
Have to agree with the Saving Private Ryan's knifing scene. Possibly the most disturbing and realistic acting job, watching someones life ebb away in front of you. Generally the more graphic scenes I do not find as disturbing as implied scenes. Gross or scary <> disturbing (for me). [/ QUOTE ] I've always wanted a German speaker to translate what the German soldier is saying during that scene. Does anyone know? I understand the shhhh shhh shhh |

Seriously, I know one girl who gets incredibly turned on by rape scenes and especially that one since it is the most brutal of them all. |

The torturing at the end of Audition.
The rape scene in I Spit on Your Grave. Lasts like 30 minutes or so. |

Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
The 'Russian Roulette' scene played by Christopher Walkien in 'The Deer Hunter'.
It both visually and viscerally encapsulates the true madness and horror of war. Although the movie is superb, I've watched it only once, and I will never be able to watch it again. It's too close and brings me back to places that I never want to go to again........ |

[/ QUOTE ] Myrtle, I was reading through the thread and a Deer Hunter lecture was building up until you saved everyone from it. The entire film made me feel like that. I've always found cock fighting and the reactions of the characters watching it really disturbing. Worse than any human fight scene. Anything having to do with the filing of dental nerves gets me every time. Singing in the Rain from Clockwork was a fun one. Funny that the film conditioned me to think of it every time I think of the song. I think very little shocks me visually any more, but sound still has some power. War of the Worlds wasn't anything special, but every time I heard that 'call' from the invadors, totals chills. |

Just watched the Irreversible scene on youtube. Hadn't seen it. Yikes. I can take stuff but when it gets to the end, that's brutal.
