Re: $109 HU
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] whats kind of low? Im just going by Indy basing all his calcs on our opponent having at least trips 100% of the time. I mean its still an obvious allin anyway, but this just makes it more obvious. [/ QUOTE ] Not you dude. Indy was referring to me by quoting that. [/ QUOTE ] Misunderstanding. Im serious, is this the same calc or is there another equity model that you use for this? Indy |

Re: $109 HU
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Using ICM, here is our distribution if we push and win (80%): 47.6 x .8 = 38.1 If we push and lose 30 x .2 = 6 So a total equity of 38.1 + 6 = 44.1 or $441 If we call and win (80%) 43.9 x .8 = 35.1 If we call and lose 33.7 x .2 = 6.7 6.7 + 35.1 = 41.8 or $418 So you lose $23 of the prize money by calling. That's over 10% of what's at stake. [/ QUOTE ] Hey super, isn't this the exact calculation I did but just removing 99 as a possiblity? Indy [/ QUOTE ] I'm embarrassed to say I couldn't understand your calculations. |

Your tourney equity is easy to calculate because its directly calculated from your % of the chips in play. Indy |

Re: $109 HU
You quoted Curtains as saying "the assumption of having a 9 is ridiculous" and said you were glad you were learning from better players. I thought you were saying that sarcastically toward me. You can see how it would look that way?
Sorry if I questioned your integrity. I really thought that was how you meant it. |

I was being sincere. Many of the players in this forum are better than me. Indy |

Re: $109 HU
i dont like the limp preflop. if hes a LAG then you are going to be laying this hand down far too often to make it profitable. play push/fold poker and/or try to limp with hands you are willing to re-push with.
and duh repush river. if he has you beat, nh gg. btw, what are the blinds? or am i just blind and cant see them? |

[/ QUOTE ] i agree...as harrington points out in vol II of his book, and as you learn by experience with heads up play, you always get profitable odds to see a flop heads up in the SB, and only if you anticipate a raise and cannot stand one would i consider folding with a hand like this unless i was sure to pick a better spot in an upcoming hand to PWN villain....i almost never fold heads up when the stacks are even and i have even a little bit of wiggle room in an unraised pot heads up, and you see why the more you get heads up. |
