No cream here, but I have the facial hair of a 13 year old, so I'd really just be wasting my time if I did use cream.

So I don't want to hijack but I am afraid if I start a new thread I'll get bitched at by some "regular" here who says I should put this here...

I haven't seen this yet, but I shave with Cetaphil soap, on the advice of my dermatologist. I shave in the shower, and the cetaphil lets the razor slide nicely without cutting my skin, shaving with just water is kind of rough for me personally.

I am constantly dealing with bumps/pustules/pimples/ingrowns on my neck, and it really sucks... The dermatologist says to use a simple single blade Bic, but I use a Mach-3. The bic cuts the [censored] out of me. My hair grows in all different directions, and I know youre not supposed to shave against the grain, but if I don't I miss hairs all over the place. I basically shave my face/neck in every direction to get a nice close shave, and I realize that this is probably causing some of my problems. The cetaphil is supposed to be moisturizing as well, and although I like the shave I get from it, within a couple hours I'll have at least two or three good bumps, sometimes half a dozen within 8 hrs or so.

Any suggestions, I'm sure I'm not the only one here with problems like this... should I moisturize more, (if so, what should I use?) any advice will be appreciated.

No I'm not gay, but dealing with [censored] like this sure blows big cock.

I do this too. If I only shave in one direction, it's only smooth in one direction. I didn't even care about this until a girl told me that it was pointy. When I ran my hand over it the other way, yeah it's pretty bad, and having that rub against a girls face can't be the most erotic thing.

So I shave every direction to make it really smooth. I don't see why one "shouldn't" shave against the grain anyway.

There was a time when all I needed was hot water and a relatively fresh razor with a lube strip, and I was golden. Then some [censored] happened, and though my beard doesn't seem to have gotten appreciably thicker in that time, that approach now hurts like hell. So shaving gel FTW.

I don't shave, my neck/under chin area gets terrible razor burn. I use clippers, trim my beard and mustache to the lowest setting, then remove the shield and touch up to shape things.

So, I always look like I've got a 2 weeks growth beard. A very trim beard seems to suit my face, but then I've had a beard for 15+ years so it's hard to remember what I look like without one.

I never used to use after shave. Eventually I noticed that my skin looked terrible. I started using after shave and things improved dramatically.

Shower, classic single blade Bic, no cream. No complaints.

Same here, apart from the shower bit.

How do you people shave in the showers? i tried this recently and had no idea what i was doing, it was like shaving blindfolded, it was quite harrowing. I'm assuming you people must have mirrors in your showers right?

Yeah, definitely use a mirror. I'm sure I'd [censored] something up if I didn't.
