The night Wilt scored 100, he made 28 out of 32 underhanded, including 18 in a row.

I never understood how players can be so bad at free throws. Everyday before Grade 12 gym class I would shoot free throws for about 5 minutes. At the beginning of the year I was around 20-25%, by the end of the year I was between 65 and 70%, including sinking 18 in a row on the last day of class, before the teacher made us clean up. I have not taken a shot since then 4 years ago.

Teammates claim Ben Wallace and Shaq are both 75%+ in practice. Nerves and fatigue play a HUGE part in free throws. Also, I tend to think its one of the most psychological and mental parts of the game.

Re: fatigue, Reggie Miller used to practice his free throws by running wind sprints at full speed across the court, then shooting FT. He claimed it was the only way to practice in-game fatigue in FT shooting.
