Nice win there, losing all (great pun here, heh).

That meant you got 2 tickets plus the 500 cash, right ($200x2)+$500 = $900? Nice hitting 2 tickets out of 390 bought, real nice.

I looked at the list of the winners, dang, sometimes you can tell when someone DUMPED "all at once" into 1,000+ tickets based on the ticket numbers!!! Translating to 100,000+ PP paid!!

The highest one was 7 tickets, apparently, by "jr_powell". That'd mean ($200x7)+$500 = $1,900. OMG!!! Tho, can't really tell from this person's ticket numbers on how many tickets gotten becuz 1 tix nbr seems little too early. (#212,586 as opposed to other 6 hit tixes btwn #222,740-#223,297).

Though for the apparently 2nd place at 6 tickets (I may have missed others) is "skorost19". It's quite obvious this person did dump the points for tickets at same time. The range of hit tixes were #97,119-#98,186. So that is really more than 1,000 bought tixes for more than 100,000 PP blown. Winning ($200x6)+$500 = $1,700; I don't think there are any complaints from "skorost19" anyway.

I am jr_powell. Account name is jr_powell, screenname now is comebackzinc. I was going to reply to this thread anyways to say how hugely +EV this promo was, and not say who I was, but now that someone mentioned my name, I guess I have to brag.

I bought a total of 1745 tickets. Drained my entire Party Point balance of 174,500. I waited until around 11:30 on the last day to buy the majority of my tickets, so I could make sure it was still +EV.

At first glance this looked like a bad promo, but then I ran some math, and realized this was the best value possible for Party Points. Assuming a total of 230,000 tickets in play(which has to be pretty close, because the ones I bought at 11:30 were like 222xxx-223xxx), then each of my tickets has a 1745/230000 = .0076 chance of hitting. 500 tickets drawn gives me an EV of around 3.8 winning tickets. Just looking at that alone shows an expectation of around $1200.

I also ran a binomial distribution formula before I bought the large clump at 11:30. This gave results of

P(0) = .022
P(1) = .085
P(2) = .162
P(3) = .205
P(4) = .195
P(5) = .148
P(6) = .093
P(7) = .050
P(8) = .024
P(9) = .010
P(10)= .004

Then I found out the total EV

.022 * 0 = 0
.085 * 200 = 17
.162 * 900 = 145.8
.205 * 1100 = 225.5
.195 * 1300 = 253.5
.148 * 1500 = 222
.093 * 1700 = 158.1
.050 * 1900 = 95
.024 * 2100 = 50.4
.010 * 2300 = 23
.004 * 2500 = 10
total=1200.3

So the total EV of 0-10 tickets drawn was 1200.3(my true EV was slightly higher) which was enough to convince me to dump all of my points.

175,000 PartyPoints are only worth like $600 of merchandise, and on average I should make twice that through the promo. However, I ran good, and hit a 5% chance

Nice score. We should pool our windfall and buy hookers and stuff.

congrats sir

why does everyone compare partypoints to $value of merchandise when 20,000 points is worth like $100 on the $100,000 freerolls

..I wouldn't play them because I don't know anything about big MTTs..but I can't see why the majority of people wouldn't

AFAIK yeah, scratch tickets and other promos don't require any playthrough.
