50 BUCKS @ STARS. Went almost broke playing limit cause the books I had bought was LIMIT! Oooh Noooo! went on to grinding the micro NL games back up to 50$ and then eventually beating the limit games.

Built my roll up till 600$ over a ridiculously long time. I put that into pokerroom to clear a 300 HUNDRED DOLLA bonus! Found out it cleared best at 100NL so I started 4 tabling those. Hahhaa those games owned, every AA soaked up those dollahs and by the time the bonus was cleared I was up to 1500$. NL is koool

I grinded stupid limit and stupid STTs and stupid MTTs from an initial $100 deposit, made a little scrilla over a year, then discovered NL ring. NL50 to NL400/600 in 6 months or so.

Its all about the paper chase, baby.

Deposited $200 on Jan. 1, .50/1 limit hold'em. Worked this up to about $1,000 in a week, then got third in an MTT for $5k. Jumped up to 5/10 limit hold'em, it was easy and I made a bunch of money moving up the limits to about 30/60. Decided I wanted to learn no-limit last month, set aside $6,000 to learn starting at 200NL and moving up whenever I get to 30 buyins for the next limit, 200NL -> 400NL -> 600NL -> 1000NL where I currently am.

In 1 month you moved up from 30 buyins at NL200, to 30 buyins at NL1000 without ever moving up a level with less than 30 buy ins?

Or did you just move up when cofortable.....Since you had the roll just not nessacerly set aside for NL.

.5/1 limit and bonus clearing, won back-to-back $10 MTT's for $1250, 2/4 -> 3/6 -> 5/10, switched to NL .25/.50 and moved up limits from there.

sept 04 - feb 05. busted two 100 dollar buyins, built the thrid to about 12k.

feb, march 05 -- party opens 1k tables. jump to those, make 60k in two months.

some random day in april -- lose 17k playing 24 hours straight, quit poker for a few months

now i 9 table 200's and make a good amount. i find the 200s ridiculously easy -- low stress, low variance. anyone else dropped down a large amount like this?

Are you CTS on Stars?

I don't play on stars. I do have an account there and have played a tournament or two, but I haven't played cash games there and don't have any money there now.

I strictly followed my bankroll management plan. Move up when I hit 30 buyins for the next level, if I drop below 25 I'd move back down. I never had to move down and made it from NL200 to NL1000 ($6,000 -> about $40,000) in just under a month. I've always been comfortable though since I've got money left over from my limit hold'em bankroll.

When I played limit hold'em, I basically did the same thing with 500BBs instead of 30 buyins (my plans are pretty conservative I guess). I hadn't played no-limit before so the first few days at NL200 I did some stupid stuff, but I learned quick and moved up fast.

By the way, I almost always play 8 tables of 6max so I get in a bunch of hands/hr.

Cool, there is a CTS on Stars that I used to play LLNL with back a couple of years ago that I used to chat with. Nice guy. He is doing pretty well in the 10/20 game now. Just was wondering if it was you or not.
