Yes there is a formula that takes into consideration how much you make, how much you pay for school/daycare, insurance... As for back child support owed, a child support amount must have been set at the time those two love birds separated.

they recently have changed the formula to take into account how much the custodial parent pays. It used to be 25% of your net income after taxes for 1 kid, 33% for two, etc. there was also a maximum. Net income includes gross, minus taxes, reasonable pension / 401k contribution, union dues, health insurance, etc. Now I stopped practicing b4 they changed it in my state so I don't know exactly what the formula is but it's something like take the non-custodial parent's child supprt obligation, and the custodial parent's obligation (if she's not working you estimate it) and figure out the difference - whatever the difference is, that's what you pay.

i made up the fruit names (surprise!) but they do all go by weird names... my bf is the only one who is referred to by his real name. it's kinda funny

[/ QUOTE ]
I thought the fruit names were cool. Much better than people who want to tell anonymous stories that go "So my friend A used to date B and C, but is now dating F..."

Anyway, banana apparently sucks at life. This bothers you because banana is a nice guy in person (I guess.) Maybe he'll eventually get his [censored] together and stop being a loser. But there's not really anything you can do to make him change. If being broke and homeless with a child who you don't support isn't enough motivation for him to do something about his life, nothing you can do will be either.

Well when your parents name you "Banana", you aren't really destined for much.

He gets to know Bubba, who, I have it on good authority, loves the occasional banana.
