fv, I like a turn checkraise here. [/ QUOTE ] I don't understand. Since you posted the thread "My biggest leak is...check/raising the turn with strong hands." you've advocated check/raising the turn with strong hands in at least two threads that I can remember clearly. WTF? |

TWP,
1: Wow, TWO WHOLE TIMES!?? 2: Lead/checkraise is a very different line than c-c/checkraise 3: I want him to give more action in this hand, and if he isn't going to do that, I like finding out on the turn. |

TWP, 1: Wow, TWO WHOLE TIMES!?? [/ QUOTE ] Two times you advocate a line which constitutes your biggest leak? Sorry if that seemed abnormal. My biggest leak is calling off my stack when I am obviously behind. I never knowingly advocate doing that in threads. [ QUOTE ] 2: Lead/checkraise is a very different line than c-c/checkraise [/ QUOTE ] OK. Didn't realize your previous comments were just about lead/cr. Seems to me c/c, c/r also says "aha! I got you! I have a monster!" and let's him off too easy. [ QUOTE ] 3: I want him to give more action in this hand, and if he isn't going to do that, I like finding out on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] Not sure I understand this, but I'll think about it. I just don't see how a turn check/raise doesn't let him a)check behind and control the pot size and b)find an easy fold if he does bet the turn. |

Re: online 10/25. 84o free look makes big hand.
this is very opponent dependent. personally id advocate call turn then weak bet river. its likely the only way you can get money off him if hes bluffing. he's unlikely to bet out again. but if he senses the weakness your showing by weak betting the river, hopefully he'll take the bait.
if he had you beat, id have no problems with losing a lot here, after all, he hand range is wide enough that your ahead a lot. if you have any knowledge about if he'd pay off a reraise on the turn, then do so. this isnt a question of if your ahead, it's a question of how to extract the most money given his hand range. you have to accept losing your stack if he's ahead, and so to make the most when you are behind, either he has trips and will raise the weak bet, or is on a bluff and will hopefully raise the weakness. only an overpair will mean ou may make less than if you bet big on the river. |

Re: online 10/25. 84o free look makes big hand.
TWP,
"My biggest leak is calling off my stack when I am obviously behind. I never knowingly advocate doing that in threads." Why are you being so f'in dense? This is the kind of sht I do not expect in the high-limit forum. Let me explain this to you in a simplified exaggerated manner, perhaps then you will understand. If I push the river every single time, I might refer to pushing the river as my biggest leak. However, that does not change the fact that optimal play will likely involve pushing the river in some spots. Now, to come back to the point at hand. Yes, I did at one point say that my biggest leak at that time was checkraising the turn too much. WELL, GUESS WHAT I DID!?!??! I ADJUSTED MY PLAY AND STARTED BALANCING MY TURN CHECKRAISES BETTER. I DID NOT JUST STOP CHECKRAISING THE TURN EVER. F, MAN, IS THIS SO GODDAMN HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND? |
