Hahaha. Thank you. You know something's wrong when you've had more 2+2 posts than SNGs you've played . . .

Oh well. Can read 2+2 at work but don't want to go the next step of actually installing PP ...

Yeah I know . . . I think I enjoy thinking about poker significantly more than I like playing poker ...

Adanthar, this better work. I just folded AQo UTG+1 in a $6 to a t45 bet. I felt shamefully weak-tight.

OK, in a few days I'm going to go through this and try to fix up most of the spots people have pointed out. The more specific suggestions in proper spots, the better, so keep them coming.

One thing about pushing early: I am not at all wedded to this but I don't want to try for a postflop play primer with an overpair that works against 1, 2 or 5 opponents equally well on any flop, which is what will happen a lot at the 11's. Pushing is clearly +ROI - a very very rough estimate is gonna be something like 125 chips plus the blinds and everything else in the pot before your push (I figured you'd be called by an idiot 25% of the time and your hand would average out to be a 75% favorite. This could be off by a lot.)

If anyone can give me something that works better that is expressable in 3 sentences I am very open to suggestions.

It'd be good to express it in BB and not assume the Party structure, e.g., on Stars a SNG is 9 players with T1500 each and the starting blind level is 10/20

he can't do that you see, because it's a guide to beating the party games, not a guide to playing poker.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm pretty sure he CAN do it, and the way I read it, it's intended as a guide to beating $10+1 SNG games, which are held at many sites... all but two of them way more playable in general than Party.

IMHO, of course.

Default Pushing Early Can Be Back Tested

Any robotic pushing strategy...
Can easily be back tested by extracting PT data.

Just started playing SNGs a month ago maybe one/day...
But I'm data mining the 33s...
And right now I have 1000 $33s from the last month.

On average you get 4.5 starting hands/player/tournament...
So I have 45,000 starting hands.
(Starting hand = Finishing hand)

Assume 30% at low blind levels...
And 20-25% of those are suitable HU or all-in matchups.

So per 1000 tourneys...
You can have roughly 3000 "situations"...
To back test push strategies very specific to 33s.
(I wouldn't expend any energy analyzing the 11s).

I'm very busy running my business...
But within about a month...
I'll double my 33 data to 2000 recent tournies...
And I'll write a VB program that extracts...
The roughly 6000 "early push" test situations...
Which is enough for a start.

I'm just guesstimating right now.

I'll pm you some results of this analysis when I'm done...
Because I very much appreciate you posting this.

Late pos, L2, limp in with AJ... so far so good.

Flop is A-rag-rag, planning to push BUT

Bet and raise before.

FOLD. Someone has Ace-rag and you're on a 3-outer.

Apologies if this is redundant.
