Re: anyone who is reasonable at poker, please read and comment
Why does poker EV not count set over set? How does it not count them? Are they the hands that are skipped and if so, why?

Yeah but why would that matter? For everytime you stack off with set over set someone stacks off to you with it. I got nailed by an overset yesterday and 30 minutes ago I nailed full_tilting with the higher set. Six and half a dozen if you ask me.

Well, there's no shame in limping once in a while. From memory, very few (if any) of the most profitable players have such a high PFR% (at least at $1/$2- I'm not so familiar with $2/$4.) (Also, most of the players that do have a high PFR% are losing players.) Obviously there is no single optimum VP$IP/PFR% combination but I'd certainly recommend experimenting with closer to a single digit PFR%. Another point, from a multi-tabling perspective, is that there's clearly an inverse-correlation between a player's PFR% and the focus they can afford each table. In other words the greater the number of hands you're raising pre-flop, the greater your involvement in each of those individual pots- resulting in less attention for your other tables. How many tables do you play? [/ QUOTE ] I had the exact same thoughts. Also, look at AKo hands (was also mentioned before). All in all, you might be too aggro (just a tad or just not mixing it up enough on the turn). |

But set-under-set means you are getting it in with 5% equity but not doing anything wrong. [/ QUOTE ] PokerEV is ok when you check the net run line. This just compares EV and outcome after you work was done in the hand (all-in). I was once up 8 buy-ins over 10K hands. That's a lot of suck outs for me and very few against me. Also, you could have a look at the set-o-meter. It shows you if you made your sets as you should (usually, this is the case in 50 K hands) but it also tells you how often your set ran into a bigger set, KK vs AA, Overpairs vs. set and if you had won these hands. I ran with my KK less into AA than the other way round AND I sucked out with my KK more than I lost with AA. Anamolies can mean a couple of thousend bucks here at 2/4. |

Also, set a filter to "at least 8 players" and rerun the list. Sometimes there is a big difference in the result and it makes your stats more comparable to others.

[/ QUOTE ] These are the Top 20 earners from the last 800k hands that I've played. [/ QUOTE ] Plz dont post this. All of 2p2 knows its impossible to be a good player unless you play a 20/10 game ldo fwiw imo diagf. Your going to disturb group think and throw off the tides so that no right answer shall ever be availible. |
