How could poker be clean when its most well-known figures were criminals? Road gamblers like Doyle and Johnny Moss played in illegal, backroom card games. With all of the cheating done throughout various poker games, how could poker ever be considered clean?

I watched Stu Ungar at the final table in 1997 when he won the World Series. They held the final table outdoors in the middle of Fremont Street. That was a bad idea. It was hot and windy. They had to have this clear plastic piece to put the cards from the flop under to keep them from blowing away. In his post game interview, Gabe Kaplan asked Stu about his former drug problems and future plans.
