Re: Help Me Buy an LCD TV
[ QUOTE ]
If you read it (and the related one)you will read some hard information surrounding In-Vision Technology and Jeff Boccaccio. In-Vision has done some in-depth engineering studies surrounding the performance characteristics of HDMI cables. Jeff Boccaccio is a well-respected electrical engineer who has been involved in the audio industry since the 60's. [/ QUOTE ]Here is the "in-depth information" about Mr. Boccaccio: "The DPL ranking system was spearheaded by Jeff Boccaccio, Principal of In-Visions Technology. Based in Ormond Beach, Fla., In-Visions Technology is a leading HDMI consulting firm specializing in developing HDMI technologies and products for consumer electronics manufacturers." That's it! It says nothing else about being an engineer since the 60s or being well respected. Maybe it would have been helpful for you to mention it in your initial link. And what "related one" are you talking about? You only linked to one site about cables. [ QUOTE ] You are the one who labeled what is there as "Marketing BS" without even having the diligence or curiosity to do any follow-up. It is not my fault (or problem) that you do not appear to have the ability or desire to perform due diligence in regards to this subject. Opinions are like arseholes.....everyone has one. We're done. [/ QUOTE ] Aside from the one press release you linked to (and that one is only barely useful), nothing else on that site is informative. There are 2 other press releases on that site. They talk about stuff like "silver-plated PCOCC signal conductors" and claim that "PCOCC is mono-crystal copper that distorts the signal far less that OFC copper, and results in significantly less signal loss." Of course, the next press release is for a product that uses, you guessed it, OFC copper. The rest of the site is a brochure for the various products. Does this page ( http://www.etherealhometheater.com/c...tory.php?id=56 )contain any actual information: [ QUOTE ] Solid Core silver plated signal conductors for best video performance. 24AWG Conductors 10-15m. 26AWG Conductors 10M and less. Maximum noise isolation using four separate shields. Premium quality abrasion resistant high temperature PVC jacket for maximum durability. Precision molded & machined gold plated connectors for maximum conductivity and reliability. Low loss Foam-Skin polyethylene dielectric for maximum signal transfer and superior picture quality. Connects: HDTV, Plasma, LCD, DLP, LCOS, DSS, DVD, Scalers & Multi Channel [/ QUOTE ] How is that any different from this quote from the Monster Cable site: [ QUOTE ] Polished Silver Center Conductor for Superior Picture Clarity and Definition Z300v/sv Reference features innovative silver-coated copper conductors for improved high frequency control and minimum attenuation. Solid center conductors maximize low frequency response and signal strength, while ultra-wide bandwidth capabilities - out to 1 GHz - make Z300F capable of carrying both baseband and over 1000 cable TV channels. [/ QUOTE ] I've been civilized and have been simply asking you, where is the information on that site. You keep replying that I'm an idiot and an [censored] for not finding the information. But you can't seem to answer a simple question. |
