Re: HSP3 Players Announced!
[ QUOTE ]
29 players over basically 24 hours of actual playtime seems lacking. ditch DN and a few of the dead weights from previous seasons already. They might give the table action but come on, they suck at cash games. [/ QUOTE ] So you'd rather have tight nits at the table? That's be entertaining. We could all learn how to fold. |

Re: HSP3 Players Announced!
I'm wondering if they'll basically make 2 shows out of it, since it's 2 tables. It may be two 1 hour shows a week.
Or they'll double the length of the season which would be good. It could be a good idea, because they have the players and announcers, and production staff there, why not film 2 seasons at once. |

Re: HSP3 Players Announced!
[ QUOTE ]
Is Gabe going to play and be the TV analyst as well cause it wouldn't be the same without him? [/ QUOTE ] Firstly, maybe none of this would turn out to be a problem, because Gabe is a real cool guy. I would love to see Gabe play, but I don't think it's worth it. Think about it... Imagine everything goes wrong for him, and he ends up losing a lot of money. Wouldn't it be wierd if he later comes back as an announcer? "I don't like this raise by Farha" sounds kinda wierd if he happened to make a couple of bad plays himself. Equally, if he turns out to win a lot of money, commenting on the play later will also be a bit ackward. Even though I'd love to see Gabe play, I think he belongs behind the mic. Noone could really replace him IMO, and I think it would be sad to see this important part of HSP be put on the line. Any thoughts? |

Any thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] I totally agree about Gabe. When this show first aired there was a certain novelty to seeing real top pros playing a cash game on TV. Gabe added to that by providing solid analysis and humor (OK, sometimes corny or over-done (e.g. Moe Greene)). I see this show disolving into yet another showcase for the poker sites to get their players face time on TV. Sure, keep Matusow in there for the freak-show factor but do we really need to have these flavors of the month on? No. The show needs to limit itself to pretty much one table a day as they did the first season and leave it at that. |

[ QUOTE ] wow, I didn't even realize Jamie Gold was on there, that's gonna be great. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't know he was a pro. [/ QUOTE ] $12.5 million makes you a poker pro pretty quickly... |

Re: HSP3 Players Announced!
This show has become a victim of its own success. The first season was great because it showcased the players that actually play high stakes cash games.
Now the show is so popular and everyone wants to be on it, regardless of what stakes they normally play. Too many tournament players or players playing over their head. |
