Bagalya Can you post the email you recieved from Absolute?

[/ QUOTE ]

I did in the first post. The meaningful parts of it. The rest of it is just the generic "thank you for.." stuff. Here.

That is complete BS. Absolute sounds like they are being very shady. Call them 10 times a day and bitch them out. I wouldn't let up. I would seriously blow there phone up and constantly demand to talk to managers.

If they are loosing money due to payment processors' fees I do not mind they charge me for it. Maybe 2% of 5% of my deposits. But not 50% or 100%.

[/ QUOTE ]

They are in the business of collecting rakes from people playing poker. If you are depositing for reasons other than playing poker don't expect them to be happy with you.

Dude. So it's ok to steal? Come on. If there is fraud, then that is a different story. But BIG NONO for sites thats steal funds because of non-play.

One interesting thing: where do the funds that get confiscated, from e.g. fraud go to? To the players, I don't think so.

I tried to log in to Absolute Poker yesterday but to no avail. I emailed them and then they e-mailed me back with the following:

[ QUOTE ]

Please note that the reason why you are not able to get in the game is because
we have found that your account is linked to some other accounts which have
performed illegal / fraudulent activities at our site.

[/ QUOTE ]

When I asked how I get my money back I got the following response:

[ QUOTE ]

I'm sorry to inform you that not only your account was closed but the money that
there was in there was confiscated.

[/ QUOTE ]

Here is the history of my account.

1) When Neteller announced it would pull from Canada I decided to put my money to casinos and poker sites and keep it there until I decide on what ewallet I will use.
2) So I did it. Poker rooms used included AP. I did not have an account there at that time, so I opened it and deposited $2000 on April 8
3) On April 9 I transfered $250 to an AP account of a friend of mine for whom it was too late to use Neteller.
4) On Aptil 11 I opened a Click2pay account and deposited US$20 with it.
5) On April 17 cashed out US$1000 to Click2pay. Another US$700+ still remaining in my account
6) My playing activity was close to inexistent. I would say I only tested their software by playing some very low limit games.

My friend also had his account closed and money confiscated. Interestingly, he got the same reasoning from them "is linked to other accounts that were involved in suspicious and/or fraudulent activity".

I did not transfer money to anyone else, neither did he. We know each other personally and live nearby. He never cashed out from AP. He also did not get a chance to play much. We never sat at the same table.

I can't think of what we violated. At least, the reasoning they gave us is bogus: accounts locked for being linked to one another.

I did not have any problems with other poker rooms and casinos I used.

Any help is appreciated.

i don't know if your complaint is legit or not. i wonder what Absolute does with seized money? they should allocate it to to all the players you played. they shouldn't be able to keep it. anyhow more to the point. i think there should be an independent third party that acts between players and poker sites to resolve disputes. i have heard of two sites that do this. maybe they can help you. let me know if they do. thanks.

Accounts were unlocked and money paid back in full after a month of calling, getting a promise to look into it, calling again, getting another promise, being asked to send the scans of the documents, being asked for more scans, being given innacurate information about the account balance ("hey, you only had 72 cents in it, why bother?").

They still did not give me anything but vague reasons for what they did ("linked to fraudulent account") but I am pretty sure that lack of play was not among those reasons. Rather, based on the ID scans requested, I beleive they somehow though that myself and my friend is the same person.

In any case, I think that my conflict with AP is over, but so is my play there.

If they had scans of your IDs, and neither of you knows how to use Photoshop worth a [censored], then how the hell did they think you were the same person?

Im glad I got my money out of that shithole site.

I dont think its beyond Absolute to confiscate your winnings for tryign to withdraw without adequate play, rather than asking you to play or something...
