In many states it is probable cause if you have a hard rock band bumper sticker on your car. Not sure if it is probably cause to pull you over? The Land of the Free - only in America.............................

dboy,
You should have said "no" to the searches and asked why you were being questioned. |

Unless anything has changed recently, Im pretty sure if a cop claims he smells weed it is probable cause for a car search, not sure about trunk searches though.
If you google it Im sure theres many articles about it online. It sucks, but if I were you Id definitely consider myself lucky. |

This one time my friends and I went to go pick up nugs in the Bronx between classes and we get pulled over on the way back when an undercover sees my friend lighting up a blunt in the car. Long story short, the pot I throw out the window hits the cop car's windshield, so the cop and a state trooper end up searching my friend's Eclipse. They don't find any more contraband so they let us go after they make my friend crush the weed into the concrete with his shoes. Good times. They probably wouldn't have let us go if there wasn't a fierce pitbull in the car barking at them the whole time.

[/ QUOTE ] In Canada I think just name and address. I normally answer date of birth questions too if they ask, but I'm not sure if I have to. edit: Actually, taht was the second-last time I was pulled over by a cop. The last time like three cars went past me and a fourth guy stopped to interview me to see if I'd seen anything. I didn't BS that guy at all, just told him what he wanted to know and continued on my way -- the time that I was a dick I was kinda pulled over randomly though. |

Moral of the story: tell cops you own a fierce pitbull.
In fact, if this isnt one of the first two or three things out of your mouth when a cop tries to talk to you, you deserve everything that happens subsequently. |
