I'm going to post my stuff here in a minute. I did three things with citrus all sweet, but there may be some question as to their all being desserts.

I guess the theme to my contributions (if there is any) is citrus sweets throughout the day. I'm sure all will be of interest, so I will just post and let everyone decide whether some should be disqualified or whatever.

I don't really care--it was just fun to make these things.

[/ QUOTE ]
As far as I'm concerned, all can be entered. Others chime in with yay or nay. (For instance, the julius is maybe the closest to the line.)

For the multiple entries, are we voting on a person's collected entries or on individual desserts?

I am in favor of Octopi's inclusion in the poll. Maybe she could post recipe and prep pics now? I don't mind either way. More the merrier, I say.

Lemon Cake with Blueberry Ice Cream

[/ QUOTE ]
Mrs Utah, I know you're new to this whole "posting" thing, but in the ICOOT threads, all the cool kids write their dish in a spiffy color. I used orange for oranges. LP used green for limes. Ron used red for blood oranges. You used ... black. For lemon AND for blueberry! (Luckily, your dish makes-up for it. )

I'm surprised you cooled the cake in the fridge overnight. Is that just to ensure it doesn't melt the icecream? Or does it serve another purpose?

[ QUOTE ]
I went through a few batches because Utah and the dog decided to help themselves.

[/ QUOTE ]
Wow. I'm surprised he got up on the table. (I'm surprised about the dog, too.) wacka wacka wacka

I used a silicone baking mat

[/ QUOTE ]
What do you think of silpats? I know everybody loves them, but I'd think they'd insulate the cookies, making them brown slower. Wouldn't parchment paper allow for way better browning? (Maybe this was your point in using the silicone.)

As usual, your plating is stellar. I personally prefer the one with the blue on top, but both look great. The nice thing about cutting circles out of the cake is that you have to dispose of those (delicious) scraps when 'cleaning-up'.

If people don't want to get into the habit of push-over restraints, or octopi thinks the mousse won't be ready soon, then we can just see the pictures later.

Oh man, I'm not going to plate until tomorrow. I'm up early and I don't have time to make the little Grand Marnier chocolate curls I just envisioned, tonight. But I'm happy enough with the idea I got and I'm sure the outcome will be delicious tomorrow. Thanks for the thought, though! (I really enjoy these threads for the creative ideas they spur)

I'm glad so many people used blood oranges, I adore them.

Me too, bloods are my favorite.

Ron, that plating is really cool. I definitely dig the tuna-can.

I know you can use cheesecloth, but what is a "nut milk bag"?

I just noticed CSC's comment that multiple entries will recieve seperate votes. Sounds good to me. With 9 great entries, I figured we'd get 3 votes each.

Right; I clearly had trouble deciding between the two.

My bad. 2 votes each.
