Bah- I didn't mean to intend that she invented it or anything. It certainly was something repeated constantly in her writings (since you claimed you never read her trash, you'll have to take my word on it). Normally she would frame it as "A is A".

Lots of not very smart people (I expect one or more of them to post in this thread any time soon) believe that the logical deductive method that underlies much libertarian analysis is somehow based on "empty tautologies", or are simply semantic definitional games. What they fail to understand is that something can be a tautology and be anything but "empty." All of mathematics is based on tautology, as is evolutionary theory.

In fact, A=A is an incredibly important statement that underlies all of mathematics; without it, the world is nonsensical. And the economic equivalent, something like "Actors act" is equally important.
