Re: PS3 queue violence
[ QUOTE ]
One of those shootings was in my hometown area. Population of <10,000 in CT. There were 15 or so people waiting in line at 2am, and 2 thugs pulled up and tried to rob them, one guy resisted so they shot him twice...WTF? What a wanna-be baller. There are no ghettos in my hometown. Just confused idiots who see this [censored] on tv. "Hmmm, I'm robbing someone and they won't give it up, I guess I'm supposed to shoot him now"....[censored] idiot. Also, why are 15 people camped outside, is Walmart really only going to stock 15 PS3's... [/ QUOTE ] The Walmart I was at only got 8 PS3's. Then they gave out 6 rainchecks. I was one of the lucky ones. Everywhere besides where I was had to camp outside. Even at other Walmarts. It was like mid 30's and drizzling the first night. The second night it was just as cold but windy. The magmt at Walmart (where I was) was just awesome. Everyone of them was real nice. They moved us to the McDonalds (in Walmart) when it closed. The McDonalds employees gave us all free drinks and food. We all made beds out of the chairs. One guy went and bought a sleeping bag. Most crashed hard.... I think I slept about 20 min the whole time. |

Re: PS3 queue violence
[ QUOTE ]
If there weren't price gouging laws, retail stores could just sell the playstations for a couple grand and we wouldn't have any of these problems. [/ QUOTE ] This has absolutely nothing to do with price gouging laws, you have no idea what you are talking about. The reason they are selling for what they are is because of agreements the stores have with the manufacturers. |

Re: PS3 queue violence
[ QUOTE ]
That's sort of the problem with this generation of game consoles; FPS and car race games are just the same old crap. Graphics don't change anything. PS2/XBox/Gamecube had enough horsepower to execute those games seamlessly; after that it's all kind of meaningless. [/ QUOTE ] Obviously you haven't seen HD videos of Gears of War. That would change your mind. |

Re: PS3 queue violence

OP, are you are programmer? I have never heard anyone use the word queue to describe a line (although it is correct). I once used the word queue in Scrabble, and no one even beleived it was a real word. [/ QUOTE ] I learned that word from the game "rollercoaster tycoon" |

Maybe OP has been outside the freaking US?
Queue is the English word for waiting in a line for something. It's not our fault if you Colonials need a smaller vocabulary. |

Re: PS3 queue violence
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Anybody have any idea how long ps3s will be selling for unreal prices? [/ QUOTE ] Until Christmas. [/ QUOTE ] I dunno...I had one up for 1899 and it didn't get a single bid. It's kind of weird some go for 2300+ and then others for 1500 with no real reason. I mean I have like a 98% rating with 81 pos feedback. So I certainly wouldn't think it was them being worried about getting it. Heck I even added a free wireless controller. I'm real hesitant about relisting it. [/ QUOTE ] Start it at $1. BTW, any seller with feedback below 99.7% isn't a seller to whom I'd want to send $2000. |

Re: PS3 queue violence
I work in IT but not in programming. I have friends in the UK and I've worked in a call center.
I just thought 'queue' was a more accurate term. |
