this assumes he is also folding lots of draws on the turn.

This would definitely affect my decision but I assume exactly the opposite of the player described.

nono, like i said i bet turn vs this opponent, but this isnt your typical villain. i really do bet this turn like 10% of the time though i can understand merits of betting more (being harder to play against, harder to read, set up thin bluffs/vbets in the future etc).

I wouldn't expect you to understand because you are a "feel" player right?

yea, all that stuff has merit too.

i came off a little "strong" before and didnt express what i wanted to say. Basically, against most tagfish, the turn is a check because his range is much more pointed towards a Q/midpair type hand. There obv wont be as many draws in his range as there will be in a 38/10 fish's range.

So it is opponent dependant definitely, but i think people should give more thought to the REASON that theyre checking behind and not just "2nd pair, i need to check".

Nothing wrong with being a 'feel' player. Jamie Gold is a feel player - gotta go with your gut mang!

I've always assumed value betting is basic stuff..

You bet 180 into 210 on turn:

Hands you're value betting against (I included huge # of flush draws and even TT-88):
(42)AcJc-Ac8c,Ac6c-Ac2c,KcJc-Kc8c,JcTc,Jc9c,Tc9c,Tc8c,9c8c,9c7c,8c6c,6c5c,6c4c, 5c4c,4c3c, TT-88

Hands he calls that are beating you:
(57) AQs,KQs,Q9s+,AQo,KQo,Q9o+

99 hands he continues with facing turn bet:
you are winning 42/99 of the time he calls= 43%(180)=$76
you are losing 57/99 of the time he calls/raises= 59%(180)=$104
EV= -$28

Ok, to include times he sucks out on you w/ hands he wouldve folded to turn bet:
Estimated range of hands he calls flop with and folds to turn bet= (66-33,A7s,A2s,97s,87s,76s): Equity of this range to suck out on you 6.757%= $12

Total Equity of turn bet= -$28+$12= $-16

So, even including tons of draws and 88,99,TT in his turn calling range, you're still losing $16 by making the bet.
