Amen. We have held CHTR as a cheap option on cable, and it has been an underperforming turd.

You must have owned if for quite awhile to say its been underperforming.

FWIW, I have not sold a share, planning on $8-$10 in next year. Not clear to me I am a seller at those prices either.

08 Jan Put options at 20 strike on WCI. Almost all cash now, but will be entering sizeable positions in long Sweden, Swiss and short China.

Talk to me Mr. Crew. You think the auction fails totally?

Are you referring to WCI? Not sure what you are talking about in relation to an auction. Besides the now expired tender offer from Ichan, I do believe there is a sizeable chance that there are no serious buyers above 15.

my update is that BWLD and MIDD have overcome FMD as my biggest positions. i haven't invested any more capital in either, but they just raged while fmd faltered. such is life!

This is what I thought you were referring to. So IMO, it is not so much an auction as a constructed reason to reject the Ichan tender to protect sr. management.

OK. Seems like reasonable starting point/thesis. What drives your conviction that this is in fact the case? Thanks.
