I agree about McRoberts. I was just trying to give examples of good passing big men. You're not the only one to think otherwise though, so I probably didn't communicate that well.

I don't really remember about Bosh....hold on, I'll look it up.........

He averaged 13.5 minutes per game, played in 8/9 games, never started, and put up 6.8 and 4.0 on 65% shooting.

Zero interest in NBA, but am curious about the thread title.

I only caught the first 1/2 of yesterday's game, but.....

Venezuela was completely overmatched.

As a Maryland fan, I was interested in watching Vasquez....he never backs down from a challenge and if anyone could lead them it was him imo....Kobe pretty much locked him up completely. Kobe continues to impress me.

U.S.'s defense as a whole was outstanding.

I was really confused by Venezuela's strategy...no zone and they pressured the outside shots letting people go by them with ease at times.

Dwight Howard is a man child and dominated them.

They started Howard/Lebron/Melo/Kobe/Kidd...great idea

They substituted way too early and too often. Why do they continue to have to play everyone to make them feel good? Have a solid 7 man rotation and stick to it. If we have to have actual NBA role players instead of superstarts to fill out the bench then do that.

Billups playing more than Deron surprised me, but he played well so no complaints.

We still have occassional bad shots, which could hurt us when we play a good team with a good strategy.

Bill Walton did the commentary which I always love:

"Venezuela actually abolished slavery 10 years before the U.S.!" - Walton during a free throw when they were not on the topic of slavery in any way whatsoever

"With Lewis there, he really has a chance to change the history of basketball this year." -Walton on Dwight Howard

Bosh didn't play for some reason(injured??)

Bosh left training camp due to plantar fasciitis. It's still possible he plays in the Olympics, but for some reason I doubt it.

JFC, Assani, ya like to give me a [censored] heart attack. Been wondering what was up with Booze. Googled it and he actually is back home, as his wife is in the late stages of pregnancy with twins.

Whew! Got scared there for a minute.

Great report BTW.
