Re: greeting girls...
I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there, you're wondering do I have food on my face, am I eating, am I talking too much, are they talking enough? Am I interested. I'm not really interested. Should I play like I'm interested but I'm not that interested? But I think she might be interested, but do I want to be interested, but now she's not interested? So all of the sudden I'm getting, I'm starting to get interested... And when am I supposed to kiss her? Do I have to wait for the door 'cause then it's awkward, it's like 'Well, good night.' Do you do like that ass-out hug, where you like, you hug each other like this and your ass sticks out because you're trying not to get too close or do you just go right in and kiss them on the lips or don't kiss them at all? It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while you're just really wondering are we gonna get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions? Perhaps play a little game called 'just the tip', just for a second, just to see how it feels. or, 'Ouch, ouch you're on my hair.'

Re: greeting girls...
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] The double cheek kiss is expected and accepted from anyone who is from over the pond, only. [/ QUOTE ] This is not true in NYC, Miami, and more cosmopolitan cities. Many women go immediately in for the air-kiss upon meeting any new person, American or not. In more red states, handshake, smile and nod, whatever is appropriate for the culture and place you're meeting them [biz v friend's house v bar etc] [/ QUOTE ] No, I meant for me. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] My post was how I want to be greeted, or expect to be greeted, personally. T |

Re: greeting girls...
El D,
Protocol dictates you use both hands for that one. I think I just shake hands. I don't really know though, it's been a while since I've met women outside of a workish context. |

Re: greeting girls...
Is saying "Hey, nice to meet you" really that [censored] hard? You don't need to do a handshake or any of that [censored] if you're just casually meeting a new person through a friend.

Re: greeting girls...
I generally do the hand shake + other hand cup or w/e it's called. Although I'm liable to do a hug or even hugspin, or have her hit me with the rock, or a high-five. It really depends on context.
Btw, touching in some way >>>>>>>>>> just saying "hi" (unless logistics are dumb) Oh, I suck at the kiss thing unless I'm in europe, *shrug*. Yugoslav |

[/ QUOTE ] i hug whenever possible. first it makes it really easy to get further along physically when you get the initial contact out of the way asap, and if they think you're too foward/a creep, you weren't getting anything from them anyway. |

Shake with your right hand and cup over with left hand simultaneously. [/ QUOTE ] I think that handshake is called the Dean Martin. It is a very friendly shake. |
