I feel that this thread should be an apology to dac and that is it. IF we want to criticize the site, do it in the monthly WSEX thread.

GM apologizes, DAC accepts apology, and then everyone rips wpex. That's all im saying. This isnt the thread to do that in IMHO

Good job WSEX GM, you rock! Also, why didnt DAC defend himself more. If he knew he was innocent, why didn't he stand up for himself? Anyone here understand what I am saying?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, not really, since the matter was handled in about 24 hours once it came here. Should DAC have jumped up and down and protested more for a even quicker response? Compare to some other sites where a dispute is first ignored for a month or two, and then after several weeks resolved.

1. Need a list of acceptable software
2. Proper warnings and process to determine software legitimacy, rather than a reactive PR exercise.
3. Suspending and investigating dodgy accounts when they are found, and active monitoring for issues so that they are found quickly and preemptively, not when they try to cash out.

More appropriate for wpex, yeah.

Wow, the way this was handled makes my decision 100% to never play at WSEX. If you guys want to grow, stop being so amateur.

In my opinion, I don't think it would be good for the quality of the games if the poker sites "advertised" what programs were allowed on their sites. The sites are trying to build traffic, and one way to build traffic is to have fishy games. Putting in your T&C that you can use software to help your game does not sound like a good business decision, because of the effect it can have on the games . On the other hand, allowing the use of PT and AHK will also help attract high volume players.

The apology is great and all but it really makes me sick
how sites make "a final decision" involving lots of money
without all of the relevant information. Why shoud DAC_ have
to go crying to 2+2 or Antigua for @#$! sake because of
WSEX' screwup? Isn't it obvious that using "new tools" might create a false positive?.
I can understand not wanting to give the cheaters too much info, but couldn't this have been resolved without 2+2 and the apology et al. Have some real dialogue with the loyal
player (not skirting the issue), have him send you the
programs, unlock the account.Whats with making a final decision before any of that happens?
Agian, props for the apology,
but the rest of it was crap.

I respect WSEX for coming back so quickly and apologizing for their screw-up.

However, a couple of things don't really sit right with me:

1) The WSEX GM's dismissive attitude when originally replying to DAC. He was so sure of the effectiveness of their "new tools" that there wasn't a doubt in his mind that DAC was guilty. How many other players had their funds taken due to these "false positives" with the new tools? How many of them have since had their money returned?

2) If it wasn't for 2+2, would DAC have gotten his money back? He wasn't getting anywhere with WSEX's customer service, and had been told that their decision was final. If it wasn't for the bad press that WSEX was getting on here, would they have bothered to follow-up with DAC? After all, they were doing absolutely nothing for him until he complained on here.

KotOD: wrong. The manager Nigel admitted checks were done (with the 'new tools') only after the latest cashout request. They need to employ these tools constantly, not just when people want to take their money, otherwise while cheats won't prosper, those cheated will lose out. Understand?

IIRC, a simple false positive could be generated by the AHK script if it always clicked the same spot on each of the buttons. Seems like there were some people that had that issue with other websites awhile ago.
