btw, when maris was breaking the single year homerun record people HATED HIM, and guess what... he was white.

Another thought:
McGwire got 23.5% of the vote his first chance in the HoF, and I think everyone agrees that pre-congress hearing and steroid investigations that Big Mac was a cinch first ballot guy. I guarantee Bonds gets a significantly higher % than that.
