Personally, I think all vodka is a huge beat. I mean, at its best its supposed to be flavorless. However, it is cheap and flavored vodka mixes so well that I turn to it as an easy way to run away from life's miseries.
I take my bourbon/whiskey/scotch very seriously. Rum I take semi-seriously. Vodka I go flavored smirnoff because one less mixer and dirt cheap. With vodka my criteria consists of not cheap enough to make me go blind. I mean, if you're planning on mixing anyway the difference is minor.
