50's music is pure image and beats. The guy can barely talk let alone rap. That said, I think the guy's a hustler who's current project happens to be music. He's going to put out whatever sells, and since the people buying rap music are mostly young white kids who don't know if what he's saying is real or not, he'll make money at it. I guess that's smart in one way but I can't imagine that it's a satisfying life to lead. Maybe it is for him.

That said: Anyone who disses AZ cannot be considered smart, and definitely cannot be considered to know [censored] about good hip-hop.

Actualy you are being silly. Kanye is fairly basic with his rhymes, hes a producer trying to rap.

50 dumbs down his material purposely, but lyrically he is still head and shoulders above Kanye.

I don't like/listen to rap. And I think that he looks retarted and sounds retarted.

But it says absolutely nothing about his mental abilities - he may very well be a very smart man behind all these and he probably is. Its very silly and naive to think that someone who achieves so much in life is a degen. Whatever works for him. He may not have an IQ of 150, but nonetheless be ten times smarter than 95% on this forum.

In listening to interviews with this guy I'd have to side with your friend but there really is no way to know. However, pretty much nothing cited in this thread is any indication that the guy must be intelligent; especially when you considering the world of entertainment, one does not have to be intelligent to be successful.

Luck is probably a twenty times bigger factor than intelligence in whether or not someone who raps about money and guns makes it to the top of his industry.
