Re: iPhone
Also, one of the very cool uses of the 'multitouch' is zooming in & out of photos (and maybe web pages?) - put two fingers on the screen close together and slide apart, and it zooms in, slide towards each other, and it zooms out.
And there is a virtual keyboard also, with predictive capability. |

[ QUOTE ] And this is the widescreen iPod. [/ QUOTE ] Ahahah ohhh I see what turnip was asking - I am retarded Although I guess turnip's question still stands - will they have a standalone widescreen non-phone device? -Al [/ QUOTE ] kinda seems like they have to if the iphone maxes out at 8gb. they could assume that people will be satisfied with their 5th gen ipods for a while, but it seems like they are really pushing the tv shows/movies through itunes business model, so i strongly suspect they will drop a widescreen with a pretty ill storage capacity sometime soon. |

Re: iPhone
From apple.com:
"iPhone’s accelerometer detects when you rotate the device from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page or a photo in its proper landscape aspect ratio. The proximity sensor detects when you lift iPhone to your ear and immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches until iPhone is moved away." There are definitely some innovative and awesome features here, this product could be awesome |

[/ QUOTE ] So, as By-Tor mentioned before, this is the "proximity sensor"? I thought that the patent they were going for was about fingers hovering over the screen for inputs etc. -Al |
