Out. Lost most of my chips when I limped in EP with 3/3 and a bunch of others limped. Flop is 3/5/8 rainbow with about 1100 in the pot.
I bet out 700 and get two callers, a limper plus one of the blinds. Turn is a 6 and there is 3200 in the pot and the blind bets 700? I call with position, the other player folds. River is a Queen and he leads out for 1500, I call with my set and he's got 4/6 and I'm crippled. Triple up with K/J on the button against the blinds, but then push UTG with K/J and run into A/Q, all done for me. |

This was my first attempt at the 500K. I only had to play 2 $7 qualifiers before getting into the $26 and won it on the first try. I'll definetely be back every week now I think. Anyway heres a hand, I'd like some comments on. I might have been a little overaggressive with it but I felt there was a lot of dead money that I could really use (M at the time was about 9). Maybe a raise to like 1200-1500 would have sufficed but then I'm pot committed anyway because any hand thats better then mine and limped with the intention of reraising would do so and I'd be committed to call anyway. My image was fairly tight as I was getting cold-decked the entire tournament. The first limper was a guy I had seen min raise in that spot many times with hands like 34s and 78s and the other limpers were all looosish players. Tell me what you guys think:

I really don't want to play right now. Wasn't in the mood to sit around card dead for 3 hours with 10 bb's.

Thanks to all, like I said I thought it was the right play and I wasnt too dissapointed. My only goal was to try not make any big mistakes in my first big buyin MTT. I'll keep learning though. I've won some smaller tournies on other sites, and it really didn't seem like the level of skill,(at least as long as I lasted) was much better. Definetely a fan of the deeper stacks and longer levels to allow more play, yet I still end up being a pushdonk. Oh well. Good luck to everyone left, I'll keep watching.
BTW- MP1 had QQ to take me out. Limping them was pretty bad I'm sure, but it worked for him this time I guess. |
