Re: Eric Froehlich calls Rolf Slotboom a donkey
From Rolf's blog:
[ QUOTE ] Yet, I am the guy who has written the (arguably) most inluential book to date about the exact same game that has given him a bracelet - PLO. And yet, he has never heard of me! [/ QUOTE ] wow |

Re: Eric Froehlich calls Rolf Slotboom a donkey
I remember taking that quiz a long time ago when I was into LHE, and I read almost all of Rolf Slotboom's articles.
I knew nothing about poker. |

[ QUOTE ]
Rolf Slotboom Has Been Eliminated He made an all-in move from middle position with and was called by a player with pocket Tens. The flop gave Slotboom a...let's see...it gave him a backdoor flush draw. But the on the turn left him drawing dead and he was eliminated. [/ QUOTE ] linkage |

Re: Eric Froehlich calls Rolf Slotboom a donkey
I see, everyone knows best here but if we reflect on the hand spoken off in the initial post you can't conclude otherwise than to say that Eric is an idiot. Calling with AK makes perfect sense if you are sick of the all-in and know you’re in a coin flip situation. But don't whine if you lose. He knows (I hope for him) AK is a drawing hand and that you are not far ahead versus two connecting undercards and in a toss against a pair.
Even me, a low-limit player, don't post my lost coin flips or lost 60-40 situations on my blog. It's idiot to complain, even if Rolf would act like an idiot when the showdown came. Rolf is good PLO player and writes for cardplayer and has written an influential book on PLO. Sir Eric doesn’t know him and calls him a donk, very idiotic move. I can’t stop to think that Eric isn't really social clever. Anyway, that was my defense again for Rolf. An extravagant player which makes the game that more interesting. N.B. The games in Holland Casino are soft but that's the case in almost every live game because of tourists, drunks and idiots. Not just in the Netherlands. There are people who can play in the Netherlands, just to make sure everyone knows |

http://youtube.com/watch?v=awhyuRKRfOU [/ QUOTE ] Has this been discussed here? I find his advice questionable, especially in the second hand he's discussing. |
