I just think it is very random and almost pointless to do this at this point. I don't know why this would help the series out as a whole. It just seems like she is throwing that out there so that she can stir up some forced controversy.

Well you're right about that. I just like arguing, and I think it'll be fun to see people who are uncomfortable about gaiety get upset by this.

Personally I see people like say dumbledore or gandalf as a-sexual characters. Adding the aspect of their sexual continuation to their lives only stands to detract from their greatness.

Gandalf is a half God of some sort, Dumbledore is a human wizard. And who cares if he smokes the [censored]? I don't see how this detracts from his greatness at all...

Lol. He's not saying it detracts from his greatness, merely that is kinda irrelevant and forced for Rowling to reveal it now. Which I agree with in a way. I always assumed both were pretty a-sexual, but it doesn't really matter what they are since it has no relevance particularly to the story.

Well maybe not totally irrelevant, I should take that back. Just seems a kinda gimmicky thing to reveal out of the blue, especially something so minor in the story which is going to be blown way out of proportion by the media/certain fans.

Probably some combination of not enough room and no way to write it well.

Dumbledore: your dead
Harry: WTF?
Dumbledore: by the way i'm gay imo
Harry: WTF?
