"I'm def. in the camp of "not that many players are winning huge long term" though."
problem is that 1m isnt that much for the nosebleed guys and 1 yr isnt that long, given how little the games run and how "easy" it is to win a mill. i suppose im in the minority but i would proly go with the over here. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Under 50 for sure. Across all sites there are what, only a few 50-100+ games going on? [/ QUOTE ] It's doable at 10/20 and 25/50 though. Probably even 5/10. [/ QUOTE ] Samo made 6 million at 10/20! [/ QUOTE ] LA is up 600K at 5/10, apparently, so far this year. [/ QUOTE ] Who's "LA"? Even assuming a solid winrate of 5 PTBB at 5/10 (basically $1 / hand), you're telling me he's played 600K hands this year (averaging 75,000 / month)??? Sick if true. I think # > $1M is greater than 25...and certainly under 250. I take under-125 all day long. [/ QUOTE ] I think LA is leatherass and I'm pretty sure 75,000 hands would be a very lazy month for him. I'd take under 125, but I think it's probably pretty close. I just think there are a bunch of players making this much off games that aren't in the spotlight (ie: anything that isn't NLHE on FTP or Stars). |

i think there are a ton who make 300K-1M, but really very few who actually clear 1M. there are definitely 125 who could if they played enough, but i would guess in reality it would be more like 30-40 because the best 10/20 and 25/50 guys play like 20K hands a month and settle for lazy half mill a year etc.

I would guess less than 25, I talked to a few people who I think know what they are talking about and they said even less than that.

I think most people capable of griding a mil a year, dont put anywhere enough hands into this anymore since its perhaps more profitable and much less stress for them to do coaching / investing with existing bankroll.

There are a lot of poker millionaires, but clearing it in one year solely online is extremely difficult.
You'll need to be crushing 2000NL or 50/100 LHE, or be a decent winner at the nosebleed stakes. Only a few can do that. I think somewhere between 30-40, which someone else already mentioned, is about right. |
